Abstract

Educational selections, structural segmentation and social inequalities in England

The article is devoted to the discussion of educational selection in contemporary school system in England. The stratification function of education in England is deeply considered with the special attention paid to the tension between the concept of “equality of opportunity” and “inequality of results”. Article includes the consideration of social selection and structural segmentation in primary and secondary schools.
